Merry Christmas & Happy 2008!

Family Christmas Shot

This last year has seen a lot of changes in our household. We started 2007 with a wonderful Monterey vacation only to return to a pink slip. I then spent the next 7 months hopping between one short term contract position to another. August I started a long-term contract that I have been enjoying.

It's time for Nocturnal!

Nocturnal coverScott Sigler's latest horror novel released yesterday! Nocturnal. I suggest that you check it out! His last novels were edge-of the seat thrilling (and scary). This one sounds a bit different based on discussions by Scott. He said he always wanted to invent a new monster, not a vampire, not a werewolf, but equally scary.

Check it out, see what you think..

EP124: Save Me Plz

Meg hadn’t heard from Devon in four months, and she realized that she missed him. So on a whim she tossed her sword and scabbard into the trunk of her car and drove over to campus to visit him.

A New Podcast

Red Panda Image While in between chapters of my other podcasts, I've subscribed to a new series from Decoder Ring Theater, called "The Red Panda Adventures". These stories are done in the style of the old radio dramas, with sound-effects and a full-cast of characters.

Plot: Imagine Batman (billionaire playboy with super-gadgets) in Toronto, Canada with a 'sexy' female sidekick, The Flying Squirrel.

The stories are a lot of fun and only about 25-30 minutes long. I enjoyed listening to the first season last week on my way to and from work; finishing a story each way. The innuendo can be bit obvious at times and there are sections of violence, so I won't be playing these with the family. Overall, I'd suggest you check them out!

Kit Baxter, Behave yourself! Yes Boss.

Just Do It!

Imagine a not-so-distant world, where advertisers no longer need to spam you with ads. They simply inject you with a drug that induces an irresistible craving for their product. This is the topic of a recent podcast that I listened to on the Escape Pod.

If you are into Science Fiction, then I'd suggest you check out the site. Steve, the editor picks out some great stories which he pays for using listener donations, so it stays free to the listeners. The 100th episode was especially nice in that it included a wonderful story by Isaac Asimov, Nightfall.

Take a look, and enjoy!

You Need this Book!

If you have checked out my site before, you've seen the section on podcasts that I am currently listening to. For those just coming out of a cave, podcasts are audio files that I play on my MP3 (like an iPOD, but without the $$$ apple logo) player.

Hate Commercials? Get a MP3 Player!

4 years ago I invested in my first MP3 player. I purchased online a 1GB micro-drive player from RIO. This device was perfect for what I needed. I could load up 100+ songs on the device and listen to commercial-free music where ever I went.
