This Sunday is NOT the end of DST

Several years ago, I bought a great atomic clock. The dual alarms allow me to set one for weekdays, and a different (if any) for weekends. It will automatically synchronize itself with the atomic clock, so no worries about the correct time, except...

Well last April 1st, we set the clock to go on a little vacation. The alarm went off as expected and we started getting ready to leave. Our flight was for 6am, and with security the way it is, we got up at 4am to make our flight (barely). After the normal rig-a-ma-roll of showers and getting dressed, I go to the kitchen to start some coffee, and realize that all the kitchen clocks say 3:30am, not 4:30am like the bedroom. Oh no, the clock automatically adjusted itself!! Ugh, well, a 45 minute nap and start over again..

So, word of advise. October 28th is not the first day of Standard Time, despite what your atomic clock says. It's now the first Sunday in November (at least until they drop the whole thing.) Trust your cell phone, as it should be set to the tower's clock! :)

Oh, and if you need a nice atomic clock, I highly suggest the Timex. No worries about alarms on weekends, unless you forgot to turn it off from last weekend.
