You may remember my post last year about Craig, my crazy New Zealander cousin and his trek up the Pacific Coast Trail. He completed a walk-through of the 2,600 mile trail (Mexico to Canada) and blogged his entire adventure.
I just got an email letting me know that he has started chapter 2, the entire country of Japan.
I have official resigned from my day job and now that my passport had been returned with a visa printed in it I can finally start to believe this is going to happen. I’ve been working there for 3.5 years and probably would have been there for a few more it this plan hadn’t occurred to me, but now my mind is set there’s nothing that can stop me and in just over two months I’ll be in the land of sumo, sushi and samurai. ~ OMW
He started in April at the southern most tip of Japan (@Cape Sata) and has been working his way north. Since there is no official trail, he has been defining his own trail along the way, including elements from historical trails where available.
Unlike the PCT adventure, Craig is vodcasting and posting pictures on Flickr of his trip, in addition to blogging. You can check out his various videos a on Seero. Have to say his videos are definitely informational. Did you know that June 21st (the Summer Solstice) is International Hike Naked Day?
Want to see more of Craig? Vote for him on Seero as one of your favorite "broadcasters". Currently he's in second place, short by 19 votes. If all goes well, Craig may be soon featured on Discovery channel as a regular feature??
