As an IT guy, I find that I typically use things differently than others. I use keystrokes more than the mouse. I prefer command-line tools instead of graphical (typically). I script instead of gathering info manually. One thing, I noticed, is that I also do my screen saver differently. OK, not really that different, but it's really how I use the built-in Windows XP screen saver.
First, I start with the 3D Text screen saver. I personally don't want the word OpenGL dancing on my desktop, so I click Settings. From this screen, I choose the font called Webdings. Webdings is a collection of symbols like a firetruck(f), bicycle(b), and a no pirates symbol(#). Create a new document using this font and type in the letters a..z, A..Z and all the numbers and symbols across the top. Personally, I use the spider(!) symbol with the reflection setting so I can have a reflective metal looking spider wobble across my monitor. :)
